Walks.

Yep. That’s it. Now before you request a refund, hear me out!

When Matt and I first got married and moved into our little white house, we were so blessed to have the best parks nearby. Having walking trails with beautiful views gave us something to look forward to on our long, easy, kid-free weekends. We didn’t even realize how simple those days were. Ha!

Somebody gave us advice early on in our marriage that one of the best ways to work on communication is to go on walks. We were both really wanting to lay a good foundation, especially in the beginning, so we did just that!

We quickly discovered that whoever it was that told us that (wish we could give you a better shoutout but I literally can’t remember) was absolutely right. We’ve had by and large the most meaningful conversations of our marriage on our walks.

I know it sounds almost too simple, but if someone were to ask me what my biggest tip for communication would be, it’s walking. As women, we need to feel like we have our man’s undivided attention in order to communicate our feelings. And guys alot of times enjoy shoulder to shoulder time and feel like if they’re actively doing something, they can open up more. So now you can see why going for walks can be so monumental for your relationship!

So even if this week, you just take ten or fifteen minutes to walk, that would be a great start. It doesn’t have to be super long walks in order to be meaningful.

And while you’re out there getting your walk one, you might as well look good doing it, right? We have been partnering with Jockey to try out some of their classic pieces, and this month it’s active wear! 'I’m so glad to finally be retiring Matt’s high school football shorts and these are a great length and fit. Their tees for men are also incredible and versatile!

I couldn’t wait to try these blush leggings. The strappy detail gives them such a fun feel and they pair perfectly with this tunic top. Wearing the size small in both, but if you’re in between in the leggings, I’d size up!

Thank you for reading today’s post and thank you to Jockey for sponsoring it!

Back To School (again!)

For those of you that don’t know, we started our girls at one school and then ended up changing one week into school. We were going to have three girls in three different places, which meant I would be driving all over the WORLD trying to get them to and fro. Definitely not ideal.

When an opportunity came up for Reese and Rowen to go to 1st and pre-K together AND for Lerner to get to go to Mother’s Morning out two days a week, all at the same place, we jumped on it! We are sad to miss out on the sweet teachers and schools we had originally planned to be with, but so far the transition has been great.

Lerner has done amazing with mother’s morning out. Her teacher’s are precious and I cannot believe how much they do at such a young age. When I picked her up the first morning, her teacher gave me a craft she made. .. with paint. Goodness knows that’s not something I would do at home with her. I’m typically trying to clean up messes and not super into making more of them. Ha!

We will be leaving a little earlier every morning and I’m hoping the 6 am wakeup call will come a little easier in the coming weeks. It just means better planning the night before to make for a smooth morning. I’ve found it’s super helpful to have easy comfy outfits laid out the night before and these from Walmart are precious. I’m rounding up some current favorites, including a few that will be great when cooler temps hit in the coming months.

Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring today’s post!!

Boyfriend Jeans

Ok, seriously I can’t believe how good these jeans are, friends! I honestly didn’t love the way they looked online but holy smokes am I glad I tried them anyway. They have the perfect amount of stretch and I would suggest sizing down if you’re in between sizes. They’re designed to sit right at your hips as a mid rise. I’m wearing the size 4 for reference!

This is the third pair of jeans I’ve gotten from the Sofía Vergara line at Walmart and they just keep getting better. The price point is amazing but the quality is just as good (if not better!) than any jeans I’ve tried recently!

I also grabbed this light pink bomber jacket to try for Fall. Be sure to size down in this one as it runs a little big! It’s the prettiest shade of blush and will be enough of a neutral to go with everything.

Thanks to Walmart for sponsoring today’s post!

Sleep in Style with Jockey

It’s been a LONG time coming, but ya girl is finally elevating my sleep style situation. My go to has always been an old pair of sleep shorts and a tee shirt but I just felt frumpy and had a feeling it could only get better from here.

I’ll be partnering with Jockey over the next few months so when they asked me where I wanted to start trying and sharing this month, I knew sleepwear was the move.

The sleep shirt is my favorite of all the selections because I would totally wear this out and about, too! Versatility is key, am I right?

They have other comfy styles that I’m rounding up for y’all below and you can also get 20% off your purchase with code

Transitional Style

I’m partnering with Walmart in today’s post to talk about transitional styles… or in other words: items in your closet that you can wear now for summer and later for fall.

I found this peplum top and as soon as I tried it on, I immediately ordered it in two other colors. It’s that good! The fit is amazing and I love how it looks by itself and layered under a cardigan.

Speaking of cardigans, I’m linking a few that I’ve found that are at a great price point!

My jeans are also from Walmart and I’ve had them for almost a year now. Let me just tell you that these are SO good! I literally couldn’t believe the fit especially for the price. I’d suggest going with your normal size for the best fit. I’m 5 7 for length reference.

Sharing a few more pieces I’ve found that I think would work for now and later below!
