Tips for Travel with Kids

Remember back in the day when you used to go on “vacations”? You know the kind where you did anything you wanted whenever you felt like it? Well, add kids into that mix of traveling and it’s just not like that anymore. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a blast. It’s just different and we’ve found throughout the years of traveling with littles, there are a few things you can do to make your trip a little more fun for all!

1. Don’t have expectations. I know I say this ALL the time, but having ANY expectations at all of anyone, especially when traveling, is just a bad idea. Figure out before you leave what your expectations are and then do what Elsa says and “let it goooooooo!”

2. Don’t expect kids to act like adults. You really don’t have to make your entire trip to revolve around your kids BUT it is helpful to plan activities that allow your kids to just be kids. We call this having boundaries.

3. Speaking of boundaries, you should have those! But really, we try to stay pretty close to our normal routine while traveling. That can’t always happen thanks to time changes but we just try to make sure everyone is drinking water, getting rest, and eating good food. Also, just don’t push everyone to their limits and then hope for the best. Really try to look out for each other and help everyone get what they need to have a good time.

4. Bring comforts from home. We like to take coloring books, crayons, markers, and a little box full of favorite dolls and toys. it’s a very small box but it’s just nice to have a few things to keep them from watching too much TV!

5. Finally, remember that these little years are MADE for making memories and that has nothing to do with perfect attitudes, flawless photos, or fool-proof plans. Be prepared to laugh a lot and give tons and tons of grace… to yourself and to everyone else!

Styling Snake Skin

You’d pretty much have to be living under a rock to miss that the snake skin print is ALIVE and well. It’s everywhere right now and I’m not mad at it. I love the fact that it’s not a loud print but it’s still a little edgy.

As I’ve been rounding up this months walmart finds, I stumbled across this precious midi skirt and about flipped over it. It’s got an elastic waistband and fits true to size. I’ve also gotten a ton of wear out of this white turtleneck sweater. It’s perfect to wear with jeans and booties or tucked into a skirt.

These slouchy boots also come in brown and they are true to size. These are so chic and the price point is amazing.

Finally, let’s chat about this jacket! It’s a beautiful tailored fit and I can’t believe it’s under $50! It’s another one that fits true to size.

Affordable Finds with Walmart

You guys know I love me some Walmart finds and the ones from this month have been SO good! I’m pumped to share with you!!

First off this is this dolman sleeve sweater. Seriously such a great fit and it comes in a few different colors, including leopard print. I went with the size small for reference. If you’re wanting a little more length, you could size up and still would probably love the fit.

Now let’s take a minute to talk about the S H O E selection at Walmart. Y’all. Not only do they have some super cute styles, but most of these shoes have the memory foam sole, which makes them SUPER comfortable.
